Below is the death notice of Anita Ann Moran, wife of Michael P. Moran, Class of 1967. Please keep the Moran family in your prayers.
Anita Ann Moran (nee Schiefler) age 75 of Westlake, OH, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Beloved wife for 54 years to Mike P. Moran; loving mother of Ian (Britta), Pierce (Ryan Marlowe) and Meghann; loving grandma of Mattie, Wes, Luke & Leighton. Anita was born in Cleveland, OH on March 21, 1949 to the late William E. Schiefler and Anita (nee Kelley). Cherished sister of Bill Schiefler (Cynthia), Therese Gargus (Gary), Bob Schiefler (Karen), Shawn Multhauf (the late Stan), Cindi Schiefler (Nick Freyermuth), and the late Sandi Alexander (the late Tim). Friend & aunt to many.
Anita was a 1967 graduate of Rocky River High School. She married the love of her life, Mike, on November 27, 1970. Anita was an avid reader; enjoyed the outdoors, especially the mountains & hiking; she was artistic & creative, always a project on hand; worked as a secretary at an engineering firm; volunteered as an elder companion. Diagnosed with two neurological disorders, Multiple Sclerosis at age 35 and the rare, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy in 2020, she prioritized health and consistently devoted time to maintaining her physical & emotional well-being. Anita was an active parishioner of St. Raphael Parish in Bay Village, OH where she was a eucharistic minister.
Thank you to the numerous medical professionals, palliative & hospice teams of the Cleveland Clinic for their loving care.
Visitation will be Wednesday, August 7 from 4pm – 7pm at McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home, 25620 Center Ridge Rd, Westlake, OH 44145. A Catholic Funeral Mass to celebrate Anita’s life will be held at St. Raphael Parish, 525 Dover Center Rd, Bay Village, Ohio 44140 on Thursday, August 8 at 10:30am.
