Ann Goyette

In Memoriam

Below is the death notice of Ann Goyette, Sister of Ray Coughlin, Class of 1967 and Michael Coughlin, Class of 1973 and sister in law of Greg Griffin, Class of 1970. Please keep the Coughlin and Goyette families in your prayers.

Ann, of Rondeau Park, Ontario, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed into eternal life unexpectedly on Thursday, November 28, 2024. She was 73 years old. Her life was a vibrant tapestry of love, strength, and joy, woven together by her unwavering devotion to her family and her extraordinary capacity to uplift everyone she encountered.

Ann was born February 21, 1951, in Cleveland, OH, to the late Raymond and Ruth (Conway) Coughlin. She married Richard Goyette on November 24, 1973, at St. Christopher Catholic Church in Rocky River, OH. For 51 beautiful years, Ann shared a love story with Richard, marked by deep affection, partnership, and countless cherished memories. She was the heart of her family, earning the endearing title "Supermom" for her ability to do and be everything for those she loved.

Ann’s personality radiated joy. She was fun, enthusiastic, and endlessly curious, bringing energy and light into every room she entered. Known for her kindness, strength, and a bit of stubbornness, she had a way of making the impossible seem possible. Her life was a testament to putting others first, always prioritizing the happiness and well-being of her family and friends. Ann created meaningful friendships and will be remembered fondly as a resident in various cities throughout the United States, specifically Dallas, Tulsa, Oklahoma City, OK, Detroit, Blue Bell, PA, Hartford, CT, Milwaukee, as well as Rondeau Park, Ontario, Canada.

Family was everything to Ann. She celebrated every milestone, shared in every challenge, and made even the simplest moments extraordinary. Her steadfast faith guided her life, and her favorite prayers, including the Serenity Prayer, offered her and those around her peace and hope.

Ann was known to be the kind of person who smiled at a stranger, packed Christmas dinners—with beers in them—for homeless people by the cathedral, one who managed to see the best in everyone, one who always told the people that mattered most to her how much she loved them, and the kind of person about whom you’d never find anyone saying a bad word.

Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 51 years, Richard; nine dearly loved children, Bryan (Carley) Goyette, Bridget (James) Soboleski, Meghan Goyette, Adam (Lori) Goyette, Sarah (Shane) Creger, Matthew (Ashley) Goyette, Mary (David) Lawnicki, Ann (Jon) Estes, and Rose (James) Tilton; loving siblings, Ray (Colleen) Coughlin, Eileen (Greg) Griffin, Mike (Kathy) Coughlin, and Sharon (David McEntee) Coughlin; 21 cherished grandchildren as well as a host of friends.
Ann’s funeral mass will be celebrated Monday, December 9, at 12 Noon, at St. Regis Catholic Church, 3695 Lincoln Rd., Bloomfield Hills, MI.
Memorial tributes are kindly suggested to the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Ann’s legacy is one of unconditional love, unshakable faith, and a life fully lived. She leaves behind a family who adored her, countless friends who cherished her, and memories that will be treasured forever.
