Brother Donald Charles Morgan, C.S.C.
June 22, 1933 - June 9, 2022
Brother Donald Charles Morgan, C.S.C., age 88, died on June 9, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. He was born the youngest of four children in Beaver Dam, WI on June 22, 1933, the son of William and Viola (Zimmerman) Morgan. A member of St. Patrick's Parish in Beaver Dam, he attended Wilson Elementary School and Beaver Dam High School, graduating in 1951. For the next year, while he attended the School of Vocational and Adult Education in Beaver Dam, he also worked in highway construction and at a shoe company. He joined the United States Navy in 1952 and worked as an aviation mechanic until his discharge in 1956, returning to work in Beaver Dam until 1961, when he entered the Congregation of Holy Cross as a Brother, taking final vows in 1968. He ministered as a teacher in Akron, OH and Monroe, MI from 1966 -1979. For the remaining years of his active ministry until 2010, he served in various congregational business offices. He also spent several years doing home health care ministry for his aging mother, Viola, and for his sister Mary (Morgan) Liddicoat. From 2010 until his death, he was retired at Columba Hall, Notre Dame, IN. Brother Donald was proceeded in death by his parents and his sisters Mary and Jeanne and his brother William. He is survived by nieces and nephews of the Meier, Liddicoat and Morgan families. Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 15, 2022 in St. Joseph Chapel at Holy Cross College at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 AM.
