In Memoriam

Below is the death notice of Carol Willson, St. Edward High School Bookstore Employee, Mother of the late Ian Willson, Class of 2014, and Noah Willson, Class of 2017. Please keep the Willson family in your prayers.

On April 20, 2023 Carol M. (Kennedy) Willson, 62, passed away unexpectedly in her home in Cleveland. Carol was a most devoted and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Carol was born in Tiffin, Ohio on January 25, 1961 to Daniel and Mary Ellen Kennedy. On October 10, 1992 she married Nathan Willson, they later divorced.

Carol is survived by her children Danielle (Dani) and Noah, both of Cleveland; her mother of Tiffin and siblings Sue (Mike) Reser of Tiffin, Lucy (Mike) Cramer of Ottawa and Patrick (Katie) Kennedy of Marshalltown, Iowa. She is also survived by nephews and nieces Steve Reser, Laura Hill, Julie Rutkowski, Doug Cramer, Corinne Cramer, Brigid Kennedy, and Joe Kennedy along with several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Carol was predeceased by her son, Ian; her father, Dan; paternal grandparents, Daniel and Corinne Kennedy; maternal grandparents, John and Florence Scherger; and nephew, Tim Cramer.

Carol was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police having retired from the North Olmsted, Ohio police department; she was proud to have been the first ever female patrolman on the force. After her retirement, Carol enjoyed working in the bookstore at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio.

As a 1983 graduate of The Ohio State University, she was an avid OSU Buckeyes fan.

SERVICES ARE TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED for 10 AM to noon on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at the Tomon and Sons Funeral Home, 4772 Pearl Road (N. of Brookpark Rd.) in Cleveland, OH 44109. Carol’s funeral services will follow at 12:30 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 4170 N. Amber Dr., Brooklyn with Rev. Michael Feldtz officiating. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Burial will be at a later date.

The family requests that donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
