Craig Boitel

Class of 1968

In Memoriam

Below is the death notice of and Craig R. Boitel, Class of 1968. Please keep the Boitel family in your prayers.

Dr. Craig R. Boitel age 74, loving father of Kathleen Boitel (Mary Downey) and Sarah Darby; proud grandfather of Olivia and Izak; brother of Mark and the late Beth Lisbon and Nancy Uhl; son of the late Kenneth and Zita Boitel (Byrne); dear uncle of many.
Craig attended St. Edward High School, The University of Dayton with a BS in Social Work, and Case Western Reserve University with a PhD in Philosophy. He was dedicated to working in the mental health field at the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, CWRU and Cleveland State University. He spent decades helping communities and families in their most vulnerable times through his private practice and dedicated countless hours preparing his students to follow in his footsteps.
Craig adored his daughters. He always made sure they had the lessons to be kind, adventurous and strong. His greatest joy was making them laugh. They are his proudest achievements. He taught them to love nature, be thankful and took great pride in stocking their toolboxes.
Craig could always be found outside enjoying its beauty. He had a life-long love affair with flyfishing, spending much of his time with his best friends in the Adirondacks.
Thank you to Hospice of the Western Reserve (Ames Family House). Your compassionate care to Craig and his daughters is greatly appreciated.
Craig's legacy he leaves behind is built on a foundation of morality and nobility, a family who adored him and will be profoundly missed.
Interment private. Memorials in his name to The National Audubon Society or the Alzheimer's Association. www.BerryMcGreevey.com
