Below is the death notice of Fr. Thomas L. Schubeck S.J. , Class of 1954. Brother of George Schubeck, Class of 1959 Please keep the Schubeck family in your prayers.
THOMAS L. SCHUBECK S.J. was born on March 21, 1936, in Bellevue, Ohio. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1957, was ordained in 1968, and died on October 13, 2022, at Colombiere Jesuit Community, Clarkston, MI. Tom's ministries were in teaching at Loyola Academy, Wilmette, IL. (1962-64), the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, California (1974-79; 1984-89), and John Carroll University (1989-2017). He was also Novice Director (1979-83) in Berkley, Michigan. He was a scholar, writer, spiritual director, administrator, and specialist in Christian Social Ethics. His wisdom, graciousness, warmth, preaching, and passion for justice will be greatly missed. A wake service will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, October 24; Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, October 25, at 10:30 AM, at Colombiere Center. Vaccinated friends are welcome; masks are required in this health care community.
