Below is the death notice of James R. Chiara, Class of 1960. Please keep the Chiara family in your prayers.
James R. Chiara “Jim”, 81, from Bay Village Ohio, passed away on May 30, 2023. He was born January 1, 1942 in Cleveland Ohio. Loving husband to Bev (nee Judd) of 46 years. Loving father of Cindy Chiara and Jamie Chiara, and grandfather of Dominic.
Jim was a graduate of St. Edward High School class of 1960, and The Ohio State University. He was proud to be an Army Veteran. He ran track and played football. He started to pursue his athletic career as a young boy, by becoming an Ohio Junior Class cycling Champion. He then moved on to competitive track and road bike racing on the national level. He also loved to compete in downhill skiing.
Jim was proud to be a husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family and friends. He truly enjoyed telling jokes, and making all those around him smile and laugh.
Memorial Mass to be held Wednesday, June 7 at 10 am at St. Ladislas Parish, 2345 Bassett Road, Westlake. Family and friends will be received from 5-8 pm on Tuesday at Jenkins Funeral Chapel, 2914 Dover Center Road, Westlake.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105
