Below is the death notice of Joanne McNamee, Wife of Dr. David McNamee, Class of 1961. Sister-in-law of Dr. Brian McNamee, Class of 1963. Please keep the McNamee family in your prayers

Joanne Plaga McNamee. Passed away December 30, 2022. Beloved wife of 53 years to Dr. David L. McNamee; loving mother of David J. (Melissa), Michael (Caitlin), Maureen, Kathleen (Tony), Terrence and Mark; proud grandmother of eleven grandchildren (Mary Beth, Molly, Megan, and Madeline McNamee; Michael, Colleen, and Ryan McNamee; Margaret, Charles, and Gwyneth Goodship; and Sophia Chillemi); beloved sister-in-law, aunt, and friend to many (notably the lifelong best friends from “The Club”).

Joanne was born on October 10, 1943 in Cleveland, OH to Joseph and Anna Plaga. She graduated from St. Catherine’s Grade School, Marymount High School, and Notre Dame College of Ohio, becoming the first in her family to earn a college degree. Although she was a gifted school teacher, Joanne left the profession to devote her life to raising her six children, while also very active in St. Christopher parish. Most importantly, she lived a life rooted in faith and loved her family and friends unconditionally.

Mass of Christian Burial at St. Christopher Church; 20141 Detroit Rd., Rocky River, OH at 11AM on Friday, January 6, 2023. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the McGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF WESTLAKE 25620 CENTER RIDGE RD. (WEST OF COLUMBIA) on THURSDAY FROM 4-7PM.
