Below is the death notice of Joel Timothy Betters, Class of 2001. Brother of Steven Betters, Class of 2006. Please keep the Betters family in your prayers.
JOEL TIMOTHY BETTERS, 41, passed away Aug. 25, 2024. Loving father of Connor Timothy, Joseph Aiden and Aela Therese; son of Ralph and Marianne Betters; brother of Fr. John, Tom (fiancée Miranda Newcomer), Maria Krihwan, Steven (Hollie) and Mark (Kate); proud uncle of Owen, Haley, Colin, Kiera, Hannah, Zachary, Aiden, Nathan, Emmett, Abigail, Noah, Ruby and Luke. Despite mental health and addiction challenges, Joel had an incredible heart, deep soul and incredible capacity to love. He always was trying to move forward and never stopped trying. He had a passion for sports, art and music. Joel could "sell ice to an eskimo" and will be remembered for his constant desire to make people happy. Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, August 30, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 2256 Clague Rd, Westlake. Burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Avon. Family will receive friends at MCGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME, 2256 CLAGUE ROAD, IN WESTLAKE FROM 4 TO 7 PM THURSDAY, AUGUST 29.
