Below is the death notice of John Piai, Grandfather of Wesley Piai, Class of 2023. Please keep the Piai family in your prayers.
JOHN C. PIAI, age 87. Survived by his wife of 48 years, Elaine Piai; loving father of Tim (Dara Krueger); step-father of Sunny Lurie (Ken), and Judy Eskin (Robert); dear grandfather of Andy, Wesley, and Fiona; Ryan and Sara; Lauren and Leigh; great-grandfather of Eva, Zoe, Melanie and Lydia; son of the late Virginia (nee Barnes) and John Piai; brother of Joanne Shannon (William). Longtime presence at Chagrin Falls High School as a teacher and coach. Ardent admirer of both Chagrin, and his hometown of Greenville, Pa.- especially their people. Two-time Cleveland Coach of the year. Cleveland Touchdown Club's Lee Tressel Award winner in 1986. Greenville High School, Thiel College, Mercer County (Pa.), and Chagrin High Halls of Fame. (And an even better teacher!) Eternally grateful to his coaches, appreciative of his many students, and fiercely proud of all his players throughout the years. Deepest admiration to all friends of "Coach." In lieu of flowers, donations are strongly suggested in John's memory to the Chagrin Falls Alumni Association (CFAA), 400 E.
