John Francis Berardi, 80, of Olathe, passed away on June 2, 2023 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

He was born on March 9, 1943 to John and Coletta (Gannon) Berardi in Waterbury, CT. John attended St. Colman's School and graduated from St. Edward High School in 1961, and Cleveland State University in 1970.
John served our country in the US Navy as a submariner and was honorably discharged in 1967. During his retirement years, he continued to serve his local SubVets club as the treasurer.
On September 4, 1967, he married Karen "Bridget" (Fahey). John and Karen moved several times, having resided in North Olmsted OH, Longwood FL, Kansas City MO, and most recently having made their home in Olathe KS.

John enjoyed a career as a C.P.A. and financial executive for several corporations including Harvest Companies, Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, and Farmland Industries prior to his retirement. John was admired and respected for his business acumen and work ethic.

While he grew up as a fan of the Cleveland Browns, he became a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks. Always the jokester, John loved to tease certain family members about Michigan and IU football.

John was honest and kind, had a great sense of humor and the best laugh. John enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved to make sauce and share it with his family and was known for his famous French toast and making ice cream sundaes for his grandchildren. He was very proud of all his grandchildren and loved hearing about their athletic, musical, and academic activities.
John is survived by his loving wife, Karen, children Maura (Kevin) Clark, John Berardi, Meghan (Geoffrey) Edds, and grandchildren Erin, Brianna, John Michael, Joseph, Samantha (fiancé Aaron Thomas), Griffin and Gannon. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Patrick (Shelley) Berardi, and sister-in-law Maureen Supcoe, brother-in-law Mark Fahey, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
