Below is the death notice of John "Jack" Gurley, Class of 2014. Please keep the Gurley family in your prayers.
John Gurley age 27, left us on December 20, 2023. Jack is the beloved son of Karen and Jerry Gurley and loving brother to his sister Ellen Gurley and late brother Stephen Gurley. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents John and Anne Fedeshen and Julius and Emma Gurley. Jack was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 30, 1996. He was a 2014 honors graduate of St. Edward High School and a 2019 magna cum laude graduate from The Ohio State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He was also a very accomplished, self-taught stock market trader. Jack was one of the most interesting people his family knew, with a multifaceted personality; smart and funny, quiet and deeply observant. He loved following current events and the drama of politics, and always had news to share. Those that grew up with Jack have fond memories of playing outside, coming up with new recipes in the kitchen, and adventuring on vacation. Jack's loving and gentle soul will be deeply missed. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023 at St. Raphael Church, 525 Dover Center Rd. at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Lifebanc or the charity of your choice in Jack's name.
