Below is the death notice of John Reali, Class of 1954. Brother of the late Robert Reali, Class of 1953 and William Reali, Class of 1959. Grandfather of Paul Reali, Class of 1984 and John Matthews, Class of 2016. Please keep the Reali and Matthews families in your prayers.

John Reali 87, born October 21,1936, passed away peacefully at home January 2, 2024. Devoted husband of the late Marie Williams Reali. Proud father of Kathleen Matthews (Bill), Dr. Michele Reali, John Reali (Aimee), Carolyn Kilbane (Thomas), Michael Reali (Jenny), Maura Armsworthy (Ryan), Dr. Ann Stratton (Randall), Jennifer Fiorilli (Steve). Doting grandfather of Rylie Varinsky (Jake), Jack, and Clare Matthews; Lauren, Tucker, and Maura Sorrell; Cecelia, Sloane and Tessa Reali; Erin, Molly, Lucy and Tommy Kilbane; Jake, Patrick, Christopher and Anthony Reali; Will, Marie and Michael Armsworthy; Miles Watts, George, Lilly and Andrew Stratton; Vincent and Giovanni Fiorilli. Dear son of the late Margaret Brown Reali and William Reali. Beloved brother of Robert (deceased) (Clare), Raymond (deceased) (Joan), and William (deceased) (Chuck Gooding). Beloved brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, godfather, cousin, mentor and friend to many. Proud alum of St. James School, St. Edward High School (Class of 1954) and John Carroll University (Class of 1958). John was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant following his graduation from JCU. After he completed his active duty assignment in Virginia, he then served for several years as a First Lieutenant Reserve Officer in Cleveland where he was the Supply Officer for a Transportation Unit. John committed his professional career to advancing Catholic education through his 35 plus years at John Carroll University as well as volunteer and consulting efforts to build and enhance facilities at St. Ann's, Holy Trinity, St. Raphael's, Gesu Church, St. Edward, St. Ignatius, Magnificat High School, Beaumont High School, Cleveland Central Catholic, Walsh Jesuit, Ursuline College, The Center for Pastoral Leadership, The Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, and the Jesuit Retreat Center, including the building of six new chapels and a church. John was a master of hospitality hosting countless meals and celebrations with his beloved wife Marie on Carlton Road, at their home on Chautauqua Lake, and in Avon Lake. Friends May Call at the McGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF WESTLAKE, 25620 Center Ridge Rd. (West of Columbia Rd.) SUNDAY Jan. 7th from 12 - 4 PM. Funeral Mass Monday, Jan. 8th at Holy Trinity Church, 33601 Detroit Rd. Avon at 11 AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
