Julie E. Strunk

In Memoriam

Below is the death notice of Julie Strunk, Wife of James C. Strunk, Class of 1979, Mother of James M. Strunk, Class of 2000. Please keep the Strunk family in your prayers.

Julie Strunk (née Emrick) aged 65; loving wife of 37 years to Jim; beloved mother of James, Jillian (Andrew Pettay), Jerrie Gurram (Sandeep), and Joey; dear grandma of Annalise; sister of Lynn Skinner (Tom); daughter of the late Ramona (née Keys) and Jerry T. Emrick; niece to many aunts and uncles. Julie was the most loving, caring individual you could ever know. She gave her heart and love to everyone. Julie always put her needs behind everyone else's. She loved her children, not just her kids but every kid in the neighborhood, everyone of the kids' friends, and every child that passed through the library. Julie started her career at Higbee's in merchandising, a job that she really enjoyed. When Dillard's took over, she took on a new venture becoming the best mom possible for the kids. She eventually found the career that she truly loved; children's librarian. After completing her master's in library science she became the manager of children's services at Lakewood Library. There was not a book she didn't enjoy reading and she passed books on to everyone she knew, always catered to each person's interests. Julie passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2023. Friends and family may visit at the McGORRAY-HANNA FUNERAL HOME OF LAKEWOOD, 14133 Detroit Ave, on SUNDAY OCTOBER 22 from 1-5pm. The Funeral Mass will be at ST. IGNATIUS OF ANTIOCH CHURCH, Lorain and West Blvd., on MONDAY OCTOBER 23 at 10am. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Connecting for Kids – Connectingforkids.org – 30628 Detroit Rd #252, Westlake, OH 44145.
