Lawrence C. Bignall, 80, of Strongsville, Ohio Passed away September 6, 2022, at the Fairview Park Hospital after complications from surgery, pneumonia, and Covid.
Larry was a 1960 graduate of St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. Larry proudly served in the United States Navy home ported out of May Port, Florida assigned to Destroyer Squadron 14.
After his Naval service, Larry had a distinguished career in the insurance industry. For 20 years he specialized in aviation claims and litigation along with product liability. He also taught flying during this time. He then moved to the brokerage portion of insurance with Marsh and McLennan and retired as a Vice President of Claims. During his retirement, he did medical malpractice investigation and litigation claims, he taught classes at a proprietary college in insurance, criminal justice, and investigation. A passion of Larry’s was gun safety. He became a certified instructor for home firearm safety, a range safety officer, and a Certified Basic Pistol instructor for the Ohio Concealed Carry License program.
Larry was preceded in his death by his wife Beverly in 2004. He is survived by his daughter Laura, two grandchildren Jessie and Riley, and his partner Irene Rehberg.
