Margaret A. "Peggy" Powers, nee Cornhoff, age 83, native of Cleveland, Ohio, longtime resident of Seminole, Florida, passed away peacefully with children by her side on September 19th, 2024, in Ithaca, NY.
Peggy was born in Cleveland on September 9, 1941, to John ("Jack") and Mary Kathryn ("Kay") Cornhoff. She was a graduate of Holy Name High School. She worked 29 years as an Operations Manager processing checks for the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland. Her most prideful moments could be seen in the successes of her five children whom she raised on her own. Peggy was always the life of the party and had a laugh that was infectious. More than anything she enjoyed spending time with family and close friends, and she was never opposed to enjoying an adult beverage. She loved to travel to places like Japan, Hawaii, Aruba, Thousand Islands, and Lake George. She made a real impact on everyone who knew her.
Peggy is survived by her children Michelle (Jim Bouey/deceased), Keith (Anne), Jeff (Shelle), Jack (Kathi), Kristin (Tim Riley), and her grandchildren Missy (Scott), Matt (Ashlee), Brittany, Patrick (Shae), Brianna, Christian (Ashley), Connor (Jen), Reagen (Curtis), Danny (Molly), Colin (Sam), Kayla (Kevin), Emily (TJ) and Jack, and her precious great grandchildren Natalee, Hannah, Donovan, Milton, Maisie, Owen, Liam, Finn, Jameson, and Koen. She was a dear sister of MaryBeth (Ken Kuhn) / both deceased, Janie (Tom Cain), Jim (Sylvia/deceased), Tom (Anne), Robert/deceased, Patty (Jeff Mash), Jack (Jackie), and Barbie/deceased.
A private Celebration of Life in Florida will be held for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Kidney Fund (https://kidneyfund.org/) or the American Lung Association (https://lung.org).
