Below is the death notice of Mary Witkowski, Wife of Richard Witkowski, Class of 1972. Mother-in-law of Jospeh Baddour, Class of 2004. Please keep the Witkowski family in your prayers.

Mary C. Witkowski, (nee Sedlak) age 68 of Broadview Hts., OH passed away suddenly Thursday, March 23, 2023 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of Richard for 43 years; loving mother of Melissa Petznick, Keith Witkowski (Kelly), and Sabrina Witkowski (Joe); dearest grandmother of Avery, Sienna, Ryan, Wyatt, and Carter; dear sister of Nancy Sedlak, George Sedlak (Cindy), Cindy Barrington (Dave), and Andy Sedlak (Jodi); sister-in-law of Carol Stawicki (Steve), Kathy Embrose (Ken) and Rosalinde Witkowski;

Mary grew up in Seven Hills, OH. She attended Normandy High School and Miami University. Mary started her career as a legal secretary at Squire Sanders and then in the corporate offices at Standard Oil. Mary and Rich met in 1977 on a blind date set up by a mutual friend from Miami University. They were married in the fall of 1979. Mary became fully devoted to her husband and family.

Mary’s legacy will live on through her husband, children, and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her smile, laughter, kindness, generosity, selflessness, humbleness, joy, honesty, integrity, determination, thoughtfulness, perseverance, compassion, appreciation, attention to detail, guidance, resiliency, sacrifices, and more…..

Her passions revolved around her family. She created close, special relationships with her grandchildren by caring for them weekly on her ‘Grandma Days’. Mary and her grandchildren were well known at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Children’s Museum, Science Center, Botanical Gardens, Nature Center, playgrounds, Gym World, library, Recreation Centers, garage sales, and kids resales. She attended every swim meet, soccer game, softball game, golf practice, camp outing, and ski adventure.

Mary loved gardening, walking, exercising, shopping, hosting celebrations, holidays, and notably weekly Sunday Family Dinners. She was the first in line each and every morning to reserve beach resort chairs and secure that perfect spot for her family by the pool. Mary loved the ocean and travel, specifically to beach locations in Hawaii, California, Florida, the Carolinas, and Cedar Point. She loved life and always persevered through her chronic medical challenges. Even on her hardest days, she always kept her spirit high.

Mary also loved her family’s pets: Venus, Blaze, Bandit, Tobi, Kona, Baxter, Kai, Milo, Cocoa, and Poppy.

Sweetheart, Mom, Grandma - thank you for always being there and for the endless love you gave us. Everything we are today is because of you. We will carry you with us for the rest of our lives in all that we do and continue to make you proud. We love you so very much.

Friends will be received at Nosek-McCreery Funeral Home, 8150 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH 44141 on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 4-8 pm. Mary's Memorial Mass will be held at St. Basil the Great Catholic Church, 8700 Brecksville Rd., Brecksville, OH on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 12:00 pm.
