Below is the death notice of Paul Filippi, Class of 1954. Brother of the late Richard Filippi, Class of 1959. Brother-in-law of Robert Kolesar, Class of 1961. Father of Daniel Filippi, Class of 1975, David Filippi, Class of 1977, Paul L. Filippi, Class of 1981, and Joseph Filippi, Class of 1982. Paul P. Filippi – Cleveland, 87, passed into eternal rest March 28, 2023 at the Hospice of the Western Reserve in Westlake. He was born February 22, 1936, the son of Christ and Emily Filippi (both deceased) and a beloved brother to Joseph (Porter-deceased), Richard (Filippi-deceased) and Emily (Czerski). Paul resided in Lakewood and the West Park area of Cleveland. He was a proud alumnus of St Edward High School in Lakewood, OH where he was part of the second graduating class of the school in 1954.

After retirement from a legendary career in commercial printing, he volunteered his time, talent and treasure at St. Mel parish where he was an active member.

Paul is survived by his beautiful and loving wife of 66 years Rita (Kolesar), his sons Daniel and wife Margaret (Cull), David and wife Dawn (Ray), Paul Jr. and wife Victoria (Hudeck), Joseph and wife Laura (Kowalski), ten amazing grandchildren and five beautiful great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2pm-5pm, Sunday April 16th at Donlon Funeral Home 15408 Triskett Rd. Cleveland. A Catholic Mass of remembrance will be held at 10 am Monday April 17 th , at St Mel Church 14436 Triskett Rd. Cleveland, OH. Paul will be laid to rest at Holy Cross cemetery in a private ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, for those who wish to remember Paul in a special manner, please make gifts in his memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve in Westlake, OH or St. Edward High School Memorial/Scholarship Fund (sehs.net)
