In Memoriam
Below is the death notice of Robert Kerner, Class of 1960. Please keep the Kerner family in your prayers.
Robert H Kerner, 82, passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 at home. He was born March 19, 1942 in Bossier City, LA.
After graduating from St. Edward high school in Cleveland, he began working for the Cleveland Cliffs on their lake freighters to earn the money needed to attend college. He graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and Ohio University with a Master's degree in psychology.
It was while he worked for AEP in Lancaster, he met his future wife Susie and her daughter Kim. Bob and Susie were married April 26, 1978 in Bar Harbor, ME and recently celebrated their 46th anniversary.
Bob had a thirst for knowledge in many areas and was an avid reader. He loved animals golfing and spending time with family. He was a kind, loving gentle soul, a wonderful husband to Susie and the best dad ever to Kim.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice (Herbert) Kerner and maternal grandmother, Anna (Herbert) Embleton.
He is survived by his wife, Susie (Moyer) Kerner. His daughter and son in law, Kim (Brown) and Jake Reynolds. His sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Bob Goodwin, nephew, Trevor and nieces, Tara, Leanne and Stephanie. And his very best friend, Fred Menigat.
Cremation is in the care of the Sheridan Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made in his name to Meals on Wheels of Fairfield County or St. Edward High School.
