Below is the death notice of Russell Hynst, Class of 1968. Please keep the Hynst family in your prayers.

It is with profound sadness, the Hynst family announces the unexpected death of Russell Joseph Hynst, our father and beloved grandfather on August 19th, 2023. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 15th, 1949 to Joseph and Julia Hynst, who preceded him in death.

Russ leaves behind two sons and their wives: Joseph (Julie), Andrew (Amanda), and Ron Henderson whom he thought of as a son; Four adoring grandchildren: Jordyn, John, Camden and Hudson; His cousins: Ken Homolka, Ron Homolka and Carol Chester; countless friends, colleagues and acquaintances, and his canine companions, who were dear to him.

Russ proudly graduated from St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. He was an accomplished multi-sport athlete. Later he graduated from UW-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. Russ was currently employed as a teacher with the Milwaukee Public Schools. After more than 37 years with the school district, Russ became a fixture in the community and was well known. For over 50 years, Russ coached from the youngest in little league baseball to high school football, basketball, swimming and baseball. Earning him the nickname “Coach.”

Russ was a kind and generous man who will be remembered for his loyalty, love of family, enormous heart, outgoing personality and sense of humor.

There will be a celebration of life ceremony to honor Russ’s life at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Viewing is 1:00 PM-3:45 PM. Ceremony to follow at 4:00 PM.
